Megan Sayres

Faculty Affairs Specialist

Megan C. Sayres, EdD, MS, a Buckeye alumna and longtime Ohio resident, is the new faculty affairs specialist in the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA). Megan joins our team after working most recently as the assistant director of alumni engagement in the College of Medicine. She previously held the following positions at Ohio State: program director of professional studies in the College of Pharmacy, director of student engagement in the College of Medicine, and the coordinator of student services in the College of Dentistry. For over a decade she has worked at  The Ohio State University and has additional experience working within higher education. Megan earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Bowling Green State University, her Master of Science in College Student Personnel from the University of Tennessee and her Doctorate in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Ohio State. She has vast experience and expertise in the areas of student affairs, including residence life, leadership development, new- student programs, student activities, and academic affairs and admissions. She also has experience executing large college events.

Megan is thrilled to join the Faculty Affairs team and will focus on business operations and be involved in strategic planning and various administrative duties. This role has been established to provide guidance, consultation and support to those involved in the strategic recruitment, hiring and onboarding of faculty to ensure an extraordinary candidate experience as new faculty transition to Ohio State. In addition to this work, Megan will support the individual academic units and OAA leadership in gathering and managing data related to the faculty recruitment and hiring processes as well as reporting of data for compliance and planning. 

When she’s not at Ohio State working, Megan is an active parent and loves volunteering her time in her local community and school district through service on the PTO and as a trustee for the Upper Arlington Education Foundation.
