Academic Leadership Program
The BTAA Academic Leadership Program (ALP) was developed to hone the leadership and managerial skills of faculty members on BTAA campuses. Participants take part in three two-day seminars that rotate among the BTAA institutions. More than 140 Ohio State faculty members have participated in the program since its inception in 1989, and many of these former fellows now hold prominent roles in university leadership. Participants are nominated by their deans. Faculty members interested in the program should speak with their department chair.

President and Provost's Leadership Institute
President's and Provost's Leadership Institute, a two-year program for long-term faculty leadership development. Focusing primarily on the nature of effective leadership rather than discrete leadership tasks, the institute aims to create a pool of potential leaders from groups that traditionally have been underrepresented in key leadership roles, especially that of department chair. Participants are tenured faculty who don’t currently hold significant leadership positions, but who may be in a position to do so within two to five years. A list of previous participants can be found on the PPLI webpage.
Academic Leadership Series
The Academic Leadership Framework, developed by Ohio State's Stefan Niewiesk and Gates Garrity-Rokous, is adapted for faculty, and Academic Leadership Series participants benefit from seven one-hour training sessions aligned with the six domains of the framework (plus an integration session) explaining pertinent skills, knowledge and concepts. The training is directed towards daily application and does not require administrative experience.
