Announcing Faculty Networks

In my last blog post, I shared that I am committed to ensuring our university is a top institution for all faculty to work, teach, and live. This pledge includes creating a vibrant academic community that connects across colleges and departments.

I am pleased to share our new Faculty Networks, which will enable faculty to come together for informal gatherings to socialize and share resources, stories, and support. Establishing Faculty Networks directly supports several institutional strategic goals related to academic excellence and impact. The networks will be managed by OAA as part of our broader initiatives in support of faculty life.

The three initial networks will be the New Faculty Network, Faculty of Color Network, and Women+ Faculty Network. Each will focus on the experiences and shared interests of a particular faculty group, though any faculty allly is welcome to join any network.

You can learn more about Faculty Networks and opt in to receive updates on the Faculty Networks webpage. As this program grows, I am eager to hear suggestions for other Faculty Networks and support groups.

Stay tuned for more information, including our inaugural get-togethers, which are coming soon.

Sincerely,

Melissa L. Gilliam
