How to Apply: President and Provost's Leadership Institute

Who is eligible to apply?

Eligible faculty will vary based on each program.

  • Eligibility is open to all Ohio State campuses and colleges.
  • Up to 40 faculty will be accepted into each program.
    • Programs 1 and 2 will be offered beginning in the 2026-27 academic year.
    • Program 3 will begin in the 2027-28 academic year.
  • PPLI is designed for faculty and academic leaders who have faculty roles.

Application Process

Interested faculty may apply for participation by submitting:

  • Application form with the following attachments:
    • 1-page letter of interest (Word or PDF)
    • CV (PDF)
    • Letter of support (Word or PDF)

The letter of interest should indicate which program is being applied to and emphasize the applicant’s history of service and leadership, career goals, and objectives for participating in the program.

The letter of support must be written by an administrator to whom you report (e.g., chair, dean, director, or vice provost) and must highlight your leadership skills and abilities, accomplishments and potential for professional growth. This letter must confirm financial and logistical support (e.g., the faculty member may need to agree to an adjusted teaching schedule or workload to enable regular attendance at sessions).
