Julie Legg and Alexa Valentino named Distinguished Fellows of NAP in Pharmacy

December 28, 2023

Julie Legg, PharmD ’96, BS ’92, director of experiential education and assistant professor-practice, and Alexa Valentino, PharmD, MBA, BCACP, FAPhA, director of BuckIPE curriculum and associate professor-clinical at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy have been named Distinguished Fellows of the National Academies of Practice (NAP) in Pharmacy. Drs. Legg and Valentino will be formally recognized as Fellows at NAP’s Annual Meeting and Forum in March 2024.

The title of Distinguished Fellow is one shared by excellent health care leaders and practitioners of NAP, who work collaboratively as an interprofessional community to influence and inform legislative decisions in the field.

As leaders of experiential education at the college, Drs. Legg and Valentino are key supporters of their students engaging in interprofessional development opportunities in the field.

“Working with the Education for Clinical Interprofessional Simulation Excellence (ECLIpSE) team at Ohio State to train health care students to work together has been one of the highlights of my career,” Dr. Legg said. “I am honored to be named a Fellow of NAP. The organization’s mission is to support interprofessional efforts like ECLIpSE at all levels to advance patient-centered care.”
